Got ignored on the lot / showroom like other mentioned, asked for service was told to wait as the salesmen were in a meeting, was told I would be called back about a specific question and was not. Bought my gti somewhere else. Went for warranty work, was told " it's normal for your car to smell like gas when it's cold out". Turns out fuel rail was leaking all over the engine... I Could go on for a while. Service is condescending and untrustworthy. Parts people are great though. Now let's see their damage control reply and a few fake 5 stars reviews pop up.

After reading the majority of the negative reviews here, I'm in a better place to understand the horrible experience I received at Bytek. I purchased from them a 2012 VW Passat Highline in Feb 2012. Right from the start, the car had major issues. I was constantly dropping my car off at Bytek because some light would always come on or something would not work or be making a strange sound. For example, all in one year I had brought the car in to have the entire steering wheel and air bag system replaced (they said it was a manufacturer's issue), the entire front headlight electrical system (apparently a recall), then again issues with the honk and the gas cap which would not CLOSE. Most recently, I took my car in because the sunroof suddenly opened on its own while I was driving and would not close again. Whenever I did try to close the sunroof it would pop back open. I dropped the car off at Bytek and the service person told me that the issue was 'likely covered under warranty - its a 2012 car with only 49 000 km!" I left feeling pretty good, thinking that this apparently easy issue would be resolved quickly. 4 days later, I am finally able to get a hold of someone to explain to me why my car has not yet been fixed. I am told that Bytek had found a 'dent' in my ROOF which they had taken pictures of and sent to VW for review (without my consent or at least informing me) and that I could come pick it up for now. I wasn't comfortable doing that because the sunroof would bust open and rain and the cold would come in, not to mention the possibility that it could potentially fly off on the highway, endangering other drivers. The service person (Greg) told me to come and get my car and he would 'tape it up' for me until VW got back to them, which they 'didn't know when that would be'. I asked for a rental car, and they told me they cant help me since they aren't sure if the broken sunroof on a 2 year old car with less than 50,000km on it was covered under warranty. I also had asked for a quote, and the sales person who called me back said they 'were not interested in purchasing the car from me due to the sunroof issue'. This was probably the worse experience I have had with Bytek - and I have been taking my car to them for 2 years now and its just gotten progressively worse.. Last time I went in because the entire car would shake at 100km/h, they told me I needed to replace all of my brakes - I changed winter tires and the shaking stopped. So thanks - but no thanks. And then kicker - when I called in to go pick up my car to take it to another dealership to get looked at - THEY SAID IT WASN'T SAFE FOR US TO PICK IT UP and refused to give me my own car back. I don't even know what to say anymore. Just don't take your car here. They severely lack professionalism, their customer service is HORRIBLE and above all that, they are not honest.

My wife and I have had our Jetta TDI and 1997 Eurovan serviced at Bytek for years and have been exceedingly pleased with the Service Advisors and the Technicians we meet. The paint shop did a great job in repairing our 2002 Jetta. In fifteen years at Bytek I don't think we have had an unresolved problem. There have been challenges with our 1997 Eurovan since we did not have past service information when we purchased it but we drove across Canada last year without any major problems; thanks to the Service Department. We just purchased a new 2015 Jetta, our first new VW car in 30 years, after three previous Jettas. The sales department were very helpful plus we are enjoying the new vehicle. We recommend Bytek to anyone looking for great vehicles and service. Paul

Never had an issue with Bytek Service. We have been taking our Passat there for years. Yes there are on again, off again issues with the car and thank God for an extended warranty option but Bytek Service has never been a problem. I recommend them.
